This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.

The present petition has been filed by the Petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the 'BNSS') seeking the following reliefs:

A. Issue a writ, order and/or direction in the nature of Mandamus and/or any other appropriate writ, order and/or direction in the like nature in favour of the petitioners and against the respondents thereby directing the respondents No. 1 to 3 to protect the lives and properties of both the petitioners from the hands of the respondents No.4 to 6 and their associates, who are bent upon to kill the petitioners and their relatives and other family members of the petitioners and to provide them all sorts of assistance and help to enable them to lead a happy married life;

B. The respondents No.4 to 6 and their associates may also be restrained from entering the house of the petitioners and from creating any hindrance in the peaceful matrimonial lives of the petitioners and from causing any harm and injury to the petitioners as well as their relations.

C. Any other relief which this Hon'ble Court deems fit and proper may also be passed in favour of the petitioners and against the respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both the petitioners are major and have solemnized marriage of their own free will. He submits that respondent nos. 4, 5 and 6, who are the mother, brother and uncle of petitioner no. 1, respectively, are opposed to the marriage and have been extending threats to the lives of the petitioners.

Learned counsel appearing for the State, on advance notice, submits that the contact details of the Beat Officer as well as the SHO concerned shall be provided to the petitioners so that they can approach the police authorities in the event of any threat or distress.

Let the contact details of the concerned Beat Officer and SHO be provided to the Petitioners. In case of any help or distress, the petitioners shall be at liberty to approach them. The SHO of the concerned Police Station is further directed to depute one police official, who shall regularly visit the rented accommodation where the petitioners are presently residing, enquire about their whereabouts and well-being, and ensure that there are no threats to the petitioners from respondent nos. 4 to 6. 7.

With the aforesaid observations, the present petition is disposed of. 8.
