By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR bearing No. 335/2023, registered at Police Station Govindpuri, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354A/341/506/509 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC') and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom.

Issue notice. Mr. Rajkumar, learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State.

Brief facts of the case are that on 25.05.2023, petitioner (father-in-law of respondent no. 2) had made filthy gestures towards respondent no. 2 and had allegedly threatened to kill her. the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioners. It is stated that with the intervention of respectable members of society, friends and relatives, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute vide Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 27.04.2025, and their statements to the said effect have been recorded by the learned Joint Registrar (Judicial) on 06.05.2025.

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned, Police Station Govindpuri, Delhi.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO concerned, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat and she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 6.

In view of the above and the fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 335/2023, registered at Police Station Govindpuri, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354A/341/506/509 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of the above, the present petition along with pending application, if any, stand disposed of.
