The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking quashing of FIR No. 143/2023 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at P.S. Neb Sarai, Delhi on the ground that the parties have amicably settled their disputes.

The present FIR is an outcome of a matrimonial dispute between the petitioner/complainant (wife) and respondent No. 2 (husband) whereas respondent Nos. 3 and 4 are the in-laws of the complainant. 3.

Mr. Sanjeev Sabharwal, learned APP for the State submits that in the present case petitioner is the complainant and respondent Nos. 2 to 4 are the accused persons.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the parties have settled their disputes on 25.08.2023 before Mediation Centre, Saket Courts, New Delhi. It is stated that first motion for grant of divorce by mutual consent has already taken place and petitioner and respondent No.2 undertake that steps The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. for second motion will be carried out in accordance with law. It is further stated that as per the terms of the settlement, the balance settlement amount of Rs.2 lacs will be paid at the time of second motion. In terms of the settlement, the petitioner is now left with no claim or grievance against respondent Nos.2 to 4.

Petitioner/complainant, who is present in Court, has been identified by her counsel as well as by I.O./ SI Rajneesh PS Neb Sarai, Delhi. Respondent Nos. 2 to 4, who are also present in the Court, have been identified by the IO.

The petitioner/complainant states that she has settled her disputes with the respondent Nos. 2 to 4 out of her own free will, volition and without any coercion. She states she has no objection in case the FIR is quashed against the respondent Nos. 2 to 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner/complainant submits that no other proceedings are pending between the parties.

The parties shall remain bound by the statements and undertaking made in Court today.

In view of the above facts and since no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the present criminal proceedings, it is directed that the aforesaid FIR and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.
