This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.

The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner-VR Malwa Pvt. Ltd. under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking an extension of the mandate of the ld. Arbitral Tribunal by 12 months from 29th July, 2023 to 29th July, 2024. 3.

As per the petition, the ld. Sole Arbitrator entered reference on 14th February, 2022 and pleadings were completed on 29th July, 2022. The mandate expired on 29th July, 2023, but proceedings continued. Final arguments from the Claimant concluded on 18th November 2023. 4.

The Court has perused the proceedings of the ld. Arbitrator. The matter is at the stage of final arguments. Considering this position and the fact that the parties have consented to the extension, the mandate of the ld. Sole Arbitrator is extended till 31st October, 2024.
