The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "A. Issue a writ of mandamus or any other suitable writ order or direction in the like nature directing the respondents no.1 and 2 to conduct fresh selection trials for the IJF Olympic qualifying events i.e. Budapest Grand Prix 2019 to be held from 12th - 14th July 2019 and Zagreb Grand Prix 2019 to be held from 26th - 28th July 2019, before 06.07.2019."

The petitioner claims to be an accomplished sportsman in the discipline of Judo.

He is, essentially, aggrieved by not being selected to represent India at the Budapest Grand Prix 2019 to be held on 12.07.2019 to

14.07.2019 and Zagreb Grand Prix 2019 to be held from 26.07.2019 to 28.07.2019.

Insofar as the Budapest Grand Prix 2019 is concerned, the learned counsel appearing for respondent no.2 (Judo Federation of India) states that the entries for the said event were sent on 20.06.2019 and it is not possible to alter the said entries at this stage. Insofar as the Zagreb Grand Prix 2019 is concerned, she states that the petitioner has already been selected to participate in the said tournament.

Plainly, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in this petition with regard to participation of Budapest Grand Prix 2019 and his grievance with regard to the tournament Zagreb Grand Prix 2019, to be held from 26.07.2019 to 28.07.2019, does not survive.

The question whether respondent no. 2 had followed the required procedure for selecting the sportspersons is left open. Respondent no.2 is directed to disclose all files relating to how the selections were held to the petitioner within a period of two weeks, from today. If the petitioner has any grievance in this regard, the petitioner is at liberty to make a complaint to the Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. In the event, any such complaint is made, respondent no.1 is directed to conduct an inquiry and take appropriate steps in accordance with law. 6.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. The pending application is also disposed of.
