W.P.(C).772/2017 & CM.APPL 3555/2017(direction) Petitioner claims to be squatting near Gate no.3, Palika Bazar, Connaught Place, New Delhi. Copies of challans have been placed on record. Counsel for NDMC, who appears on an advance copy, submits that copies of challans placed on record would show that the petitioner was earlier squatting at Bhagwan Das Road while the two challans for the year 2015 would show that the petitioner was squatting at Palika Bazar, Connaught Place. Mr. Peechara submits that as of now, petitioner is not squatting at the site in question. Counsel for the respondent submits that the respondent has declared the area outside Palika
Bazar, Connaught Place as a non-squatting zone. Thus, the petitioner cannot be, in any case, accommodated at the said site. Counsel for the respondent submits that the case of the petitioner should be considered by the Town Vending Committee (TVC).
The petition is disposed of at this stage with leave to the petitioner to approach the TVC. The TVC would consider the case of the petitioner expeditiously and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. CM.APPL 3555/2017 also stands disposed of.
