This writ petition was instituted for exemption from the tax levied upon owners of tourist transport vehicles, for the period of the COVID-19 lockdown.

In view of the passage of time since then, learned counsel for the petitioner states that he has been instructed to withdraw the writ petition. However, he requests that the question of law raised in the writ petition be left open.

The writ petition stands dismissed as withdrawn. As the petition has not been adjudicated on merits, the withdrawal will not prejudice the petitioner in agitating the same question of law, if any, in a subsequent petition if required.
