The present petition has been filed by the petitioner raising a grievance as regards inadequate water supply in its premises bearing No.RZ34/223, Block-J, Gali No.2, Sagarpur (West), New Delhi-110046. 2.

It is submitted that the petitioner along with his family members is residing at the said property since the last 25 years, but in the recent past, the petitioner has been facing acute water shortage on account of omission on the part of the respondent to ensure adequate supply of water with appropriate pressure, in the area in question. 3.

Learned counsel for the respondent/DJB, who appears on advance notice concedes that in the recent past, there has been a difficulty in providing water from the DJB pipeline with adequate pressure inasmuch as the petitioner‟s premises are stated to be located at the tail end of the The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. pipeline in question. However, it is submitted that serious attempts shall be made to augment the water supply and to ensure that the water supply is maintained at the petitioner‟s premises with adequate pressure. It is assured and undertaken, on instructions, that requisite and urgent steps shall be taken by the respondent/DJB in this regard and an endeavour shall be made to ensure adequate supply of water to the petitioner‟s premises for at least one hour everyday.

The respondent/DJB shall also make an endeavour to explore the possibility of water supply to the petitioner through an alternative pipeline. 5.

It is further stated that till adequate supply of water through a pipeline is restored, the respondent/DJB shall make adequate arrangements for supply of water to the petitioner‟s premises through water tankers. 6.

In view of the aforesaid, no further orders are required to be passed in the present petition at this stage, and the same is accordingly, disposed of. 7.

Needless to say, in case if there is any deficiency in the steps taken by the respondent/DJB, the petitioner shall be entitled to avail appropriate remedies under law.
