Petitioner herein inter alia seeks issuance of a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus issuing necessary directions to the Respondent no.1 to 4 to stop harassing the petitioner. The said respondents are serving as SHO, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Delhi Police and Inspector respectively.

The petitioner appearing in-person, claims himself to be a well-known public figure and religious preacher engaged in social service. He alleges harassment stemming from a complaint dated 19.07.2024 filed by Dr. H.S. Rawat, with whom he has prior litigation history. The complaint, reportedly related to alleged defamation. Petitioner states that though neither any FIR has been registered nor any cognizable offence disclosed, yet he received repeated calls to appear at the police station. He was alleged 3.

In the premise, petition is disposed of with the expectation that official respondents shall proceed in accordance with law, particularly in terms of the judgment rendered in Arnesh Kumar Vs. State of Bihar and Anr [(2014) 8 SCC 273]. In case any worthwhile incriminating material is found against the petitioner, he shall be given prior notice under Section 35 BNSS.
