% 17.07.2019 1.

The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondents to issue a passport against an earlier passport issued by the Passport Authority, Jallandhar, Punjab. 2.

None appears for the petitioner.

3.

The learned counsel appearing for the respondents states, on instructions, that if the petitioner applies for a passport, the same would be processed within a period of four weeks of his application. He clarifies that the issuance of a passport would not be withheld on account of the petitioner having applied for a political asylum overseas. 4.

In view of the above, the respondents are bound down to the said statement. No further orders are required to be passed in this petition. 5.

The petition is disposed of.
