% 24.03.2017 By this writ petition, petitioner seeks parole on the ground that he intends to file SLP in the Supreme Court by engaging a counsel of his choice. Learned Additional Standing Counsel submits that address of the petitioner has been verified.
In my view, every convict is entitled to pursue legal remedies available to him/her upto the highest forum by engaging a counsel of his/her choice. Accordingly, petition is allowed and petitioner is directed to be released on parole for a period of one month from the date of his release, subject to furnishing a personal bond in the sum of `10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent. During the parole period, petitioner shall report to SHO
of the concerned police station once in a week, i.e. on Mondays at 10:00 am. After completion of parole period petitioner shall surrender before the Superintendent Jail.
Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Copy of the order be sent to the Jail Superintendent for serving it upon the petitioner and for compliance.
