The present petition seeks quashing of FIR No. 491/2017, under Sections 498A/406/34 of Indian Penal Code, 18601, on the basis of a settlement arrived at between Petitioner No.1 and the complainant (Respondent No.2).

On 20th March, 2025, the following order was passed: "1.
Respondent no. 2 is present in Court. She confirms the settlement dated 7th November, 2020 executed between her and Petitioner No. 1 and states that she is willing to implement the terms and proceed for divorce from Petitioner No. 1.

Parties are directed to take appropriate steps in terms of their settlement.
3.
On the next date of hearing, the parties shall remain present before the Court.
4.
Renotify on 21st May, 2025."

However, till date, no steps have been taken by the parties to execute the terms of settlement. Counsel for the Petitioner states that, in fact, his client has also stopped responding to his calls. 4.
In light of the above, since the parties have not shown any interest to resolve the matter, the present petition is dismissed. In the event, if there is a genuine settlement, they shall be at liberty to re-apply afresh for appropriate orders, which shall then be considered on its own merits. 5.
Disposed of.
