This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (in short, 'Cr.P.C.') challenging the Order dated 12.03.2024 (hereinafter referred to as the 'Impugned Order') passed by the Jail Superintendent, District Jail, Sonipat, Haryana, rejecting the application of the petitioner to be released on furlough in FIR No.257/2000 registered at Police Station: Gannaur, Sonipat, Haryana under Sections 395/396/397 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (in short, The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. 'IPC'); and also seeking direction from this court to release the petitioner on furlough for a period of three weeks. 3.

In my view, as the order has been passed by the authority which comes under the jurisdiction of State of Haryana, the petitioner has to approach, if so advised, the High Court of Punjab and Haryana for the appropriate relief/directions. This Court lacks the territorial jurisdiction to entertain the present petition. 4.

In case the petitioner wishes to exercise the above remedy, the concerned Jail Superintendent is requested to provide the assistance to the petitioner in the same.

5.

Copy of the Order be communicated to the concerned Jail Superintendent for information and ensuring compliance. 6.

The petition is disposed of in the above terms.
