O R D E R

% 07.01.2016 After some arguments, the petitioner, who appears in person, states that if the cheque of Rs.4,25,150/- towards HRA and other allowances which had been brought by the respondents on the last date of hearing is handed over to her, she would not like to continue with the present contempt proceedings.

It is pertinent to mention that the petitioner in her letter dated 19th August, 2014 to the FA&CAO/C, Northern Railway has stated that she and her husband were posted at different stations from February, 1998 to 21st May, 2001, 25th September, 2001 to 21st June, 2005 and 14th August, 2007 to 01st October, 2008. Mr. Jagjit Singh, learned counsel for the respondents states that though the validity of the aforesaid cheque has expired, yet he would get it revalidated and/or ensure a fresh cheque is issued for the aforesaid amount within a period of one week. The aforesaid statement of Mr. Jagjit Singh is accepted by this Court and the respondents are directed to hand over the cheque of

Rs.4,25,150/- to the petitioner within a period of one week along with the financial year-wise break-up of the payment. In view of the aforesaid direction, the present contempt proceedings are closed and the notices issued are discharged. In the event, the cheque is not handed over to the petitioner within the stipulated time, the petitioner shall be at liberty to seek revival of the present contempt proceedings.
