The present petition has been filed under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('Act of 1996'), seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal with effect from 01.04.2025, for passing of the award.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner states that the pleadings are complete and the evidence of the Claimant is being recorded. 4.1.

He states that the matter is listed before the Arbitral Tribunal today for cross-examination of the Claimant's witnesses. 4.2.

another nine (9) months w.e.f. 01.04.2025.

Issue notice.

Ms. Rachita Garg, Advocate enters appearance on behalf of the Respondent. She states that the Respondent as well joins the request of the Petitioner for extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. She prays that the period of 01.04.2025 to 16.05.2025 be regularised and the mandate of the tribunal be extended for a period of nine (9) months with effect from today.

This Court has considered the submissions of the parties. 8.

In view of the averments made and the facts recorded in the captioned petition; the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of nine

(9) months w.e.f. 16.05.2025. In addition, the period between 01.04.2025 and 16.05.2025 is hereby regularised.

The parties are directed to cooperate with the Arbitral Tribunal in concluding the recording of evidence and publishing of the award within the extended period, considering that it is the object of the Act of 1996 that the arbitral proceedings should be completed in an expeditious and time bound manner. Parties are directed to not seek any adjournments before the Arbitral Tribunal.

With the aforesaid directions, the petition stands allowed.
