The present petition has been filed under Section 528 BNSS, 2023 seeking quashing of FIR No.542/2015 under Sections 506/509/34/354 IPC registered at Police Station Mayur Vihar Ph-I and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the ground that the parties have arrived at a settlement.

Issue notice. Ms. Manjeet Arya, learned APP for the State accepts notice.

One co-accused namely Balbeer @Balveer Singh, is stated to have expired on 27.12.2017, which fact is also affirmed by Ms. Arya, on The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
instructions from the I.O, therefore the proceedings against him have abated, and the present petition has been filed by the sole surviving accused. A copy of the death certificate of Balbeer @ Balveer Singh is also attached as Annexure P-3 to the present petition.

The petitioner, as well as, respondent no. 2, who are present in Court, have been identified by their respective counsels, as well as, by the Investigating Officer SI Sangam, PS-Mayur Vihar. 7.
On account of some misunderstanding, certain disputes arose between the parties and the dispute between the parties also led to the registration of present FIR at the instance of respondent no.2. 8.
During pendency of the proceedings, the parties were referred to Delhi Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi, where they arrived at a settlement, terms whereof were reduced in writing in the form of Settlement dated 27.06.2017, which is annexed as Annexure P-4 to the present petition. 9.
It is a term of the settlement that the parties with the intervention of family and friends have resolved all their disputes amicably without any coercion or pressure.

It is also a term of the settlement that respondent no.2 will cooperate with the petitioners for the quashing of the present FIR. 11.
Respondent no.2, on a query posed by the Court, states that she has no objection in case the FIR is quashed.

In view of the fact that the parties have arrived at a settlement, no useful purpose will be served in continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them.

It is, thus, in the interest of justice that the present FIR and all the other proceedings emanating therefrom be quashed. The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Consequently, the petition is allowed and the FIR No.542/2015 under Sections 506/509/34/354 IPC registered at Police Station Mayur Vihar Ph-I alongwith all other proceedings emanating therefrom, is quashed. 15.
