The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner-The Delhi Swastik Cooperative Urban Thrift & Credit Society Limited through its Returning Officer, Mr. Arun Lal (hereinafter, 'Society'), inter alia, seeking adequate police force to be deputed for holding the elections of the Society which is The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

scheduled for 18th May, 2025 at Nisheman Primary School, Baptish Church Trust Association, Raj Niwas Marg, Civil Lines, Delhi-110054. 4.

The submissions on behalf of the Petitioner is that it has more than 12,000 primary members though for the said elections, it is expected that the turn out may not be that much.

The Court had requested Mr. Sanjay Lao, ld. Standing Counsel (Criminal) to seek instructions from the concerned Deputy Commissioner of Police (hereinafter, 'DCP') of the area, in respect of deployment of police force.

Post lunch the matter has been taken up.

Mr. Lao along with Mr. Raja Banthia, DCP, North District, Civil Lines is present in Court. It is submitted by Mr. Lao that the area concerned is a high security zone area and considering the prevalent situation, the DCP would not be able to provide any police force to the Petitioner. In fact, according to the police the said venue ought not to be used for elections if the turn out is going to be in such huge numbers as there is no adequate parking space at the said venue.

In the connected writ petition which was heard today, being W.P.(C) 6553/2025 titled 'Rajan Gupta vs. The Registrar of Co-operative Society & Anr.', this Court has directed that the Petitioner in the said matter i.e., Mr. Rajan Gupta shall be permitted to contest the election for the post of the President.

Even the said school which is the venue for the elections appears to be reluctant to permit the same without police force being provided. 10.

Under such circumstances, in the current prevalent situation, this Court is of the opinion that the Society ought to postpone the elections to 25th May, The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Upon finalisation of the venue, the Returning Officer may seek deployment of police force for conduct of the elections smoothly and peacefully which shall be considered favourable by the concerned police station.

With these observations, the present petition is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are also disposed of.
