This petition has been filed, under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, for extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator, who is in seisin of disputes between the parties under an Agreement dated 25.04.2013, pursuant to an order of this Court dated 16.01.2019 in ARB.P. 797/2018.

Learned counsel for the parties state that the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal has expired on 20.04.2024. The proceedings have taken longer than expected due to the COVID-19 pandemic, when hearings were not held. They are now at the stage of arguments of the respondent before the Tribunal. Learned counsel for the respondent herein appears on advance notice, and states that the respondent has no objection to the relief sought.

four months from 20.04.2024, learned counsel for the parties jointly request that the extension may be granted for a period of six months w.e.f. 20.04.2024.

Having regard to the above, the petition is allowed and disposed of by extending the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal for a period of six months w.e.f. 20.04.2024. The pending application also stands disposed of.
