This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.

This is a petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 filed by the Petitioner-Leadec India Pvt. Ltd. seeking extension of the mandate of the ld. Sole Arbitrator. The ld. Sole Arbitrator was appointed vide order dated 10th March, 2022 passed by this Court in ARB.P 122/2022 titled 'Leadec India Pvt. Ltd. v. Sumitomo Corp. India Pvt. Ltd'. The ld. Sole Arbitrator held the first hearing in the matter on 2nd April, 2022. On 9th December, 2023, both the parties had agreed for an extension of the mandate of the ld. Sole Arbitrator for a period of six months from 9th November, 2023 to 8th May, 2024. However, the mandate of the ld. Sole Arbitrator is stated to have been terminated. 3.

The Court has perused the last order of the ld. concluded. It is submitted that since then, two more hearings have been held before the ld. Sole Arbitrator, and finally, the arguments were to conclude. At this stage, the Petitioner/Claimant has moved an application for amendment of the claim due to a miscalculation of the claims. The Respondent is stated to be opposing the amendment application filed by the Petitioner/Claimant.

Considering the stage and nature of the matter, the mandate of the ld. Sole Arbitrator is extended till 31st December, 2024. 5.
