O R D E R

This is a Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 BNSS for seeking protection. 2.

It is a case of inter faith marriage. The petitioners got married on 01.05.2025 at Arya Samaj Mandir.

It is submitted by the counsel for the petitioners that petitioner No.1 belonged to Muslim religion and before marriage has converted to Hinduism and married respondent No.2.

Learned counsel further states that petitioner No.1 was resident of Gujarat and that Gujarat Police came to the house of petitioner No.2 at Tilak Nagar and took the grandmother and minor sister of petitioner No.2 to Police Station Tilak Nagar where they were allegedly detained for hours before being released. Learned Standing Counsel states that petitioners are not wanted in connection with any case in Delhi and it is the Gujarat Police who is making the enquiry in respect of a missing complaint lodged by the parents of petitioner No.1 at Gujarat. However, he has no objection in case petitioners are provided the requisite security. 6.

Since both the petitioners are stated to be major and have got married with consent, the petition is disposed of with direction to the SHO, P.S.Tilak Nagar to provide safety and security to the petitioners. 7.

The SHO shall provide his contact details as also of the beat officer of the area where the petitioners are residing. In case the petitioners shift to a place other than the one shown in the memo of parties, the SHO shall intimate the said fact to the concerned police station having the territorial jurisdiction over the residential address of the petitioners who shall comply with the present order in letter and spirit.

Let the beat constable call upon the petitioners before 9 AM and after 6 PM every day for the next two months to ensure that both of them are unharmed.

The petitioners shall disclose their residential address to the SHO, who shall not disclose the same to any unauthorised person. 10.

Petition is accordingly disposed of.
