W.P.(CRL) 323/2017 Issue notice. Notice is accepted on behalf of the State. Mr. Lao has tendered in court the status report, which is taken on record. The petitioners have preferred this petition to seek directions to be issued to the State to ensure their safety and protection. The petitioners state that they are both major and have got married out of their own free will and accord. They apprehend harm from respondent no.2, who is the father of petitioner no.1.

The petitioners are also present in court. They state that they are presently residing at Noida.

Petitioner no.2 apparently was a tenant of respondent no.2 earlier. He states that he is no longer a tenant in the said property and none of his belongings are lying at the residence of respondent No.2. Mr. Lao submits that I.O. has already informed respondent no.2 about the marriage of the petitioners in response to the missing report filed by respondent no.2 with regard to petitioner no.1. In view of the aforesaid circumstances, no directions can be issued to the Delhi Police to provide protection to the petitioners since they are presently residing outside the jurisdiction of this court i.e. at Noida. However, in case they decide to return to Delhi and they still have apprehension from respondent No.2, it shall be open to them to approach the concerned police station to seek protection and after making an assessment of the threat perceived by the petitioners, they shall be adequately protected within the jurisdiction of the concerned police station.
