This petition filed under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 is for appointment of an arbitrator. 2.

The respondent has been served and is being represented by Ms.Konika Mitra, Advocate who states that the respondent has no objection if the matter is referred to adjudication by a Sole Arbitrator even though the relevant clause contemplates adjudication by an Arbitral Tribunal consisting of three members.

The petition is allowed, I deem it appropriate to appoint Mr. Pradeep Chadha, and ex-Delhi Higher judicial officer, who has retired as a District Judge, as a Sole Arbitrator to adjudicate the dispute between the parties. The appointment shall be regulated by the Rules of Delhi International Arbitration Centre.
