The present petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, seeking parole for a period of sixty days in FIR No. 369/1995 under Sections 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 registered at Police Station Mukherji Nagar. 4.
The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, by order on sentence dated 31.07.2000, was sentenced for life imprisonment and the petitioner is in custody since then The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. and has undergone incarceration of about twelve and a half years. 5.
He submits that the petitioner is undisputedly entitled for grant of parole and had filed an application on 29.04.2024 which has not been decided as yet.

The learned counsel for the State, at the outset, submits that the application filed by the applicant seeking parole would be decided at the earliest possible date and, in any case, not later than three to four weeks.

In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to direct the respondent to pass an order in the application filed by the petitioner seeking parole within a period of three weeks. 8.
No further orders are required to be passed at this stage. 9.
The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 10.
Needless to say, the petitioner is at liberty to approach this Court in case any grievance remains.

A copy of this order be sent to the concerned Jail Superintendent for compliance.
