The present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 ('Cr.P.C.') has been filed on behalf of the petitioner seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to release the petitioner on parole for getting medical treatment and care of his old age mother, for a period of four weeks.

Learned counsel for petitioner submits that the application has not yet been decided by the competent authority.
