The petitioners have filed the present writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. with a prayer to issue directions to respondents No.2 and 3 not to harass the petitioners and also to direct respondent No.1 to provide protection to them from Respondents no.2 and 3.

Status report has been filed by the State/R-1. 3.

On behalf of State/R-1, it has been submitted that concerned SHO as well as Beat Staff of the area have been sensitized and mobile numbers of the concerned Beat Staff, Division Officer, SHO as well as concerned Police W.P.(CRL) 376/2016

Station have been provided to the petitioners and that every possible effort has been made for the protection of the petitioners. 4.

Respondent No.2 - real brother and respondent No.3 - cousin of the petitioner No.1 are present in the Court. Respondents No.2 and 3 have given in writing that they have no objection to the marriage of their sister petitioner No.1 with petitioner No.2 and petitioners have never been threatened by them. Respondents No.2 and 3 further submit that petitioner No.2 is facing trial in a case registered under Section 308 IPC at Tis Hazari Court and they were concerned about their sister. They assure the petitioners that they can live happily without apprehending any threat. 5.

On behalf of the State, it has been submitted that though the respondents No.2 and 3 have given in writing that the petitioners need not apprehend any threat from them, still State is ready to provide protection to the petitioners through Beat Staff in future, if there is any element of threat to them from the respondents Nos. 2 & 3.

In view of the aforesaid assurance given above, learned counsel for the petitioners seeks leave to withdraw the present writ petition. 7.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. As prayed, copy of the order be given dasti to learned counsel for the parties.
