By way of present petitions, the petitioners seek quashing of two FIRs, i.e. FIR bearing no. 704/2022, registered at Police Station Kalyanpuri, East District, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 323/341/354/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereinafter referred to as the 'IPC')and FIR bearing no. 729/2022, registered at Police Station Kalyanpuri, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 323/498A/506/34 of the IPC and subsequent proceedings arising therefrom.

The petitioners and respondent no. 2 in both the FIRs are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Kalyanpuri, East District, Delhi.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that the allegations in the aforementioned FIRs, arise out of misunderstanding and matrimonial disputes between the parties, subsequent to which cross-FIRs were registered on the respective complaints against the petitioners under the relevant sections. However, it is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter vide Settlement Agreement dated 11.12.2025, entered between them before the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre, Delhi High Court, New Delhi. 4.
On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2/complainant in both the respective FIRs, who have been identified by the concerned IO, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by them that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties and they have no objection if these cross FIRs are quashed. This Court is informed that petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 alongwith their children in CRL.M.C. 4362/2024 are residing together peacefully.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIRs and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIRs in question. 7.
Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 704/2022, registered at Police Station Kalyanpuri, East District, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 323/341/354/34 of IPC and FIR bearing no. 729/2022, registered at Police Station Kalyanpuri, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 323/498A/506/34 of the IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. 8.
In view of the above, the present petitions stand disposed of. 9.
