Present public interest petition has been filed by an Advocate seeking issuance of directions to the Respondent for facilitation of examination center within five Kms from respective college of students, and which are well connected to public transport so that Delhi Metro and DTC Buses are easily accessible.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner states that Respondent has allocated examination centers upto twenty-five Kms away from the colleges The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. where students are pursuing their graduate courses. He states that the centers are located at extreme corners of Delhi and at desolate places, many of which are not at all connected with public transport like Delhi Metro and DTC buses.

He states that the centers are so located, where security of individuals, especially girls is a serious risk. He further states that on 20th May, 2024, a request signed by more than hundred students of one of the colleges to change the end-term theory examination center was made to the dean of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Plot No 1, Sector 22, PSP Area, Delhi- 110086.

Though, the present public interest litigation does not warrant relaxation of the rule of locus standi as the aggrieved students are not disadvantaged and can approach the Court to seek appropriate relief, yet this Court directs the Respondent to treat the present writ petition as a representation and decide the same by way of speaking order in accordance with law within a week. The order disposing of the representation shall be communicated to the Petitioner.

With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
