This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking direction to respondent No. 1 to grant protection to the petitioners from respondent Nos. 2 to 6 in NCR No. 3/2025 under Sections 115(2)/3/351(3), BNS, 2023, Police Station-Burari. 2.

Petitioners are stated to be the father-in-law and mother-in-law of respondent No. 2. Respondent Nos. 3 to 6 are stated to be the relatives of respondent No. 2.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that petitioners are the senior citizens and that on 13.01.2025, they were physically assaulted by respondent Nos. 2 to 6 at their house and e-mail was sent to the Commissioner of Police by petitioner No. 1 and complaint was also made to SHO, ACP, DCP on 17.01.2025. He further submits that Police just recorded NCR No. 3/2025 at Police Station Burari and recorded statements of petitioners on 24.02.2025.

Mr. Anand V. Khatri, learned ASC appearing for the State, states that NCR has already been recorded on the complaint of petitioners and appropriate action would be taken by the Police authorities as per law. 5.

Since petitioners are having threat perceptions from respondent Nos. 2 to 6, petition is disposed of with direction to the concerned SHO and the beat Constable of the area where the petitioners are residing, to share their contact numbers with the petitioners to enable them to immediately make complaint in case of imminent threat. In addition, it is directed that the Beat Constable shall make call, at least once, everyday to the petitioners, at least, for next two months, to ensure the safety and security of the petitioners.
