This is a petition filed under Section 29A(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Issue notice. Mr. Varun Nischal, Advocate for Respondent accepts notice.

It is stated in the petition that the mandate of the arbitral tribunal expired on 16.11.2024.

It is stated that pleadings in the claim filed by the Petitioner and the counter claim filed by the Respondent have been completed. It is stated that evidence in the claims is being led presently and are still pending completion.

proceedings within a period of one (1) year from today. 6.

It is prayed that the period between 16.11.2024 until today be regularized and a further period of one year be granted for completion of the arbitral proceedings.

Learned counsel for the Respondent states that he has no objection to the relief sought in this petition; he, however, does not admit to the allegations made on the merits of the dispute in the petition. 8.

This Court has heard the parties.

In view of the submissions recorded hereinabove, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended till 31.05.2026. The period between 16.11.2024 until 21.05.2025 is hereby regularized.

The parties are directed to cooperate with the arbitral tribunal in expeditious recording of evidence and arguments, so that the mandate of the arbitration of an early disposal is meaningfully achieved. Parties undertake not to seek any unnecessary adjournment. The learned sole Arbitrator is requested to complete the arbitration proceedings within the extended period.

With the aforesaid directions, the present petition stands disposed of.
