The instant petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (hereinafter ―BNSS‖) [earlier Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (hereinafter ―CrPC‖)] has been filed by the petitioners praying for quashing of FIR No. 53/2023 registered at Police Station Mansarovar Park for the offences punishable under Sections 365/506/511 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereinafter ―IPC‖). 2.
The brief facts of the case are that on 21.02.2023, respondent no. 2 stated that earlier that at around 1:50 PM, while she was walking with her sister-in-law near Aggarwal Sweets on Main Mandoli Road to pick up her nephew, petitioner no. 1, whose marriage had been earlier arranged with her but later called off, approached her, forcibly grabbed her hand, attempted to make her sit, and threatened that if she did not marry him he would throw acid on her and kill her family. petitioner no. 2, and upon respondent no. 2 warning that she would call the police, petitioner no. 1 threatened that bullets would be fired at his signal before fleeing with petitioner no. 2. Pursuant thereto, the FIR was registered. 3.
It is submitted that the petitioners and respondent no. 2 have amicably resolved all their disputes, and respondent no. 2, keeping in mind her future and overall well-being, now wishes to put this matter behind her and move forward with her life in a peaceful manner.

Qua the compromise deed dated 03.07.2023, the respondent no. 2 has agreed to withdraw the case arising out of FIR No. 53/2023 registered at Police Station Mansarovar Park against the petitioners. 5.
It is prayed by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties that the instant FIR may be quashed on the basis of the compromise. 6.
Learned SC for the State, who appears on advance notice, accepts notice and submits that there is no opposition to the prayer made by the petitioners seeking quashing of the FIR in question in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties.

Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record. 8.
The petitioners are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer, Police Station Mansarovar Park. Respondent no. 2 is also present in the Court and has been identified by her counsel and the Investigating Officer.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise on his own free will and without any pressure. It is also stated by him that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties.

Keeping in view the fact that the matter stands amicably been settled between the petitioners and respondent no. 2 amicably without any pressure, no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping the matter pending. Respondent no. 2 wishes to move on with her life without any hindrance. She does not want the pendency of these proceedings to obstruct her future in any manner 11.
It is, thus, in the interest of justice to quash the afore-mentioned FIR and the proceedings emanating therefrom.

Hence, in light of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court passed in Gian Singh vs. State of Punjab (2012) 10 SCC 303 FIR No. 53/2023 registered at Police Station Mansarovar Park for the offences punishable under Sections 365/506/511 of the IPC, and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom, are quashed qua the present petitioners. 13.
The petition alongwith pending application(s), if any, stands disposed of.
