Status report has been filed, which has verified the antecedents of the petitioners and nothing adverse have been found. 2.

The petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.542/2014 under Sections 468/34/471/420/506/467 IPC, Police Station Kotwali. 3.

It is contended that the parties are related to each other. The petitioners are the children of the late brother of the complainant. Subject FIR has been registered consequent to a dispute with regard to the inheritance of the property left behind by the predecessor of the parties.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the parties have CRL.M.C. 570/2018

entered into a settlement agreement dated 24.07.2014 through the process of mediation, held at Delhi High Court Mediation & Conciliation Centre. In terms of the settlement, parties have already settled all their disputes and property stands partitioned in terms of the settlement.

Respondent No.2 is present in Court in person, represented by counsel and identified by the Investigating Officer. He submits that he has settled his disputes with the petitioners. He further submits that he does not wish to press his complaint any further. 6.

In view of the fact that parties are related and the disputes between them have been settled, continuation of criminal proceedings will be an exercise in futility and justice in the case demands that the dispute between the parties is put to an end and peace is restored; securing the ends of justice being the ultimate guiding factor. It would also be expedient to quash the subject FIRs and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom.

In view of the above, the petition is allowed. FIR No.542/2014 under Sections 468/34/471/420/506/467 IPC, Police Station Kotwali and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are accordingly quashed.
