By way of the present application, the applicant seeks grant of interim bail in case FIR No. 226/2024, registered at Police Station Jamia Nagar, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 307/354D/109/419/120B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC'). 4.

Issue notice. Mr. Naresh Kumar Chahar, the learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State.

has to appear for UPSC Examination. It is stated that the said examination is to take place on 25.05.2025 and his centre is at Patna, Bihar. 6.

This Court has heard arguments addressed on behalf of the applicant and has perused the material available on record. 7.

During the course of hearing, this Court inquired from the learned counsel for the applicant as to why the present application has been moved at the eleventh hour, especially when only one day remains for the applicant to travel to Patna, Bihar, for appearing in the examination. In response, the learned counsel continued to press for an urgent order to be passed today. This Court is however of the considered opinion that any delay or negligence on the part of a litigant in approaching the Court in a timely manner should not be allowed to convert into an emergent situation for the Court, when the parties want other cases to be left aside and their case be attended to first, on priority basis. Be that as it may, considering the fact that the applicant is seeking interim bail solely for the purpose of appearing in the UPSC Examination scheduled for 25.05.2025, which he is attempting for the fourth time (as informed to this Court), and since his examination centre is situated at Patna, this Court is inclined to grant interim bail to the applicant.

The applicant shall be released on interim bail on his furnishing a personal bond in the sum of Rs. 20,000/- with one surety bond of the like amount, subject to the satisfaction of the learned Trial Court/Successor Court/Link Court/Duty Judge concerned. The applicant will not either by himself or by any means including physically and electronically try to contact the victim or her family. Since he has to appear for his examination on 25.05.2025, he shall surrender before the Jail Authorities on 27.05.2025 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
