By way of this writ petition, the petitioner seeks the following reliefs: "a) direct the Respondents No. 1 to 3 to consider the case of Petitioner as a valid case for referring him to the category of open prison, in the interest of justice.
b) direct the Respondent No.2 and 3 to conduct the timely meetings as prescribed under the Delhi Prison Manual and Rules made thereunder so that a fair chance can be given to the convicts for restoring their dignity and developing self-reliance, selfconfidence and social responsibility for rehabilitation of the convict in the society."

On the last date of hearing, i.e. 23.05.2025, this Court had directed as under:
"6. In view of the above, let a report be called from the concerned Jail Superintendent, regarding the status of the representation given by the petitioner on 19.10.2020 or any subsequent representation, for transferring the inmates to semi open jail."

words 'semi open jail' shall be now read as 'open jail'. 4.
Status Report has been filed by the Jail authorities, wherein it has been mentioned that the case of the petitioner could not be considered for lodgement in Open Jail since he was not present in jail at the relevant time for his medical assessment i.e. during the time of Covid-19 pandemic. It is further mentioned that no fresh representation has been received by the jail authorities.

Having heard the learned counsel appearing for the either side, this Court deems it apposite to direct that the present petition be treated as representation on behalf of the petitioner and the prayer made herein be decided by the concerned authorities within 15 days from date of receipt of this order, under intimation to the petitioner. 6.
In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of. 7.
Let a copy of this order be sent to the concerned Jail Superintendent for information and necessary compliance.
