This writ petition has been preferred on behalf of the Petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India in the nature of quo warranto assailing the appointment of Respondent No. 2 as well as for a declaration that the Minutes of Special Meeting of the Executive Council held on 24.05.2024 are illegal, void ab initio and non-est in law. 2.

of India jointly submit that the Hon'ble President of India in her capacity as a Visitor of the concerned University, in exercise of powers conferred by Statute 2(6) of The Jamia Millia Islamia Act, 1988 has approved the appointment of Prof. Mohammad Shakeel/Respondent No. 2 as Officiating Vice Chancellor and in this context, Ms. Arora hands over a copy of letter dated 09.07.2024 wherein written instructions have been given to her, intimating the aforesaid position. Copy of the letter is taken on record. 3.
Learned counsel for the Petitioner fairly and candidly submits that in view of the approval by the Visitor, present petition is rendered infructuous. 4.
Accordingly, writ petition stands disposed of as infructuous. Pending application is also disposed of.
