This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for the Arbitral Tribunal to conclude the arbitration proceedings and pronounce the award.

It is a joint application and it has been stated that the delay occurred on account of Covid-19 pandemic as well as the voluminous nature of the arbitral record.

Since it is a joint application, I am inclined to allow the petition. 4.
The time for the Arbitral Tribunal is hereby extended by 6 months for concluding the arbitration proceedings and pronouncing the award with effect from 01.03.2024 to 01.09.2024.

The petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
