This is a petition filed under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('Act of 1996') for extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal for a period of four (4) months, w.e.f. 26.05.2025, to enable the completion of final arguments and making of arbitral award. 4.

It is stated in the petition that previously several extensions have been sought by the parties, and the last extension was sought in O.M.P. (MISC) (COMM.) 882/2024 whereby this Court vide Order dated 13.11.2024 had extended the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator for a period of 6 months from 16.11.2024 to 15.05.2025.

Issue notice.

Mr. Ashish Tiwari, learned Additional Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent.

He states that he has no objection to the present petition being allowed and he, as well, joins the Petitioner's request of extending the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator for a period of four (4) months. 8.

Having considered the averments made in the petition and in view of joint request of the parties, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the arbitral tribunal comprising of a Sole Arbitrator, for passing an arbitral award, is extended w.e.f. 26.05.2025 till 31.08.2025. 9.

The Sole Arbitrator is requested to publish the award within the extended period.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of, along with the pending applications, if any.
