The solitary prayer addressed in this writ petition is for expediting proceedings referable to Section 276B of the Income Tax Act, 1961 which are stated to be pending.

Bearing in mind the fact that we are unaware of the status of the board of the authority before which the said proceedings are stated to be pending as well as of those which may be of earlier vintage, we find no justification to frame any peremptory direction for out of turn disposal.

Accordingly, while we refuse to issue the prerogative writs which are prayed for, we accord liberty to the writ petitioner to approach the competent authority for expeditious disposal. YASHWANT VARMA, J.
