This petition has been filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, praying for an order to the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, West, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi (hereinafter referred to as the 'Trial Court') to expedite the adjudication of the complaint filed by the complainant under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, being MC No. 5551402/2016, titled Bhawana Grover v. Nishant Grover.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the said complaint has been pending adjudication since 2016. nos.1 and 2 are senior citizens and have been facing immense difficulty in appearing before the learned Trial Court, for the proceedings of the said complaint. She submits that the complainant therein is seeking adjournments on one pretext or the other and in this regard, she has also drawn my attention to the order dated 04.04.2024 passed by the learned Trial Court, wherein a long date was given solely at the request of the complainant.

I have considered the submissions made.

As the complaint has been pending since 2016, and it is also in the interest of the complainant that it must be brought to its logical end, therefore, the learned Trial Court is requested to expedite the adjudication of the abovesaid complaint and make an endeavour to adjudicate the same within a period of four months of its first listing post this order. In this endeavour, any unwarranted request for adjournment of either party should be denied by the learned Trial Court.

The petition is disposed of in the above terms. 7.
Copy of the order be sent to the learned Trial Court for ensuring compliance.
