This petition has been preferred on behalf of the Petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking parole for a period of 8 weeks.

Petitioner was arrested in case FIR No.174/2011 under Sections 302/307/34 IPC registered at PS: Nihal Vihar and convicted vide judgment dated 11.10.2019 under Section 302/307/34 IPC and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life along with payment of fine of Rs.5,000/- under Section 302 IPC, sentenced to undergo imprisonment for two years along with payment of fine of Rs.3,000/- under Section 307 IPC and the sentences were to run concurrently vide order on sentence dated 17.10.2019. CRL. A. No.10/2020 was dismissed by this Court on 28.04.2022. Petitioner filed an application before the Competent Authority in March, 2024 for grant of parole for a period of 8 weeks, which is stated to be pending till date.

Learned ASC accepts notice on behalf of the State and on instructions, submits that the application will be disposed of within two weeks from today.

Taking the assurance of learned ASC on record, this petition is disposed of. Application of the Petitioner shall be decided within two weeks from today. The decision will be communicated to the Petitioner within one week thereafter and Petitioner will be at liberty to take recourse to appropriate remedies in law, in case of any surviving grievance. 8.
