The petitioner has filed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution, seeking issuance of an Experience Certificate, No-Objection Certificate and Character Certificate by the Life Insurance Corporation of India ["LIC"], in respect of his work as a Development Officer from 02.12.2019.

The petitioner's services as a Development Officer have been terminated by an order dated 24.02.2025, which states that the petitioner's services would be terminated on the expiry of three months from the date of the receipt thereof. According to the petitioner, he received the order on 06.03.2025, and his services would, therefore, stand terminated on 05.06.2025. Mr. Kamal Mehta, learned counsel for LIC, does not have factual instructions as to the date of service of the order. 3.

W.P.(C) 5905/2025, which was disposed of on 05.05.2025, relegating him to the remedy of appeal under Rule 7 of the LIC Development Officers (Revision of Certain Terms and Conditions of Services) Rules, 2009 (as amended) ["the Rules"].

I am informed that the petitioner has not filed an appeal. He is present in Court, and does not seem to have decided clearly as to whether he wishes to file an appeal against the termination order or not. 5.

Be that as it may, he seeks issuance of Experience Certificate, NoObjection Certificate and Character Certificate, to enable him to seek alternative employment.

Mr. Mehta states that the Experience Certificate and No-Objection Certificate will be issued to the petitioner in the same manner as issued to other Development Officers who are in the same position, i.e. whose services are terminated under the Rules. Mr. Mehta also submits, upon instructions, that LIC does not issue Character Certificates at all. 7.

The necessary action be taken by the respondent within a period of one week, after the request is formally made. 8.

It is made clear that if the petitioner does file an appeal, the certificates issued by the respondent may mention the pendency of the appeal.

The writ petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
