Writ petition under Section 226 of Constitution read with Section 482 Cr.P.C has been filed on behalf of the petitioner for issuing directions to respondent No.2 to accept the request of the Applicant and transfer him to the custody of Government of Australia for serving his remaining sentence or to direct the respondent to expedite the transfer proceedings as almost 9 months have elapsed since he made his Application.

Learned counsel on behalf of the respondent No.2 submits that the Application of the petitioner for transfer was received on The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. 26.03.2024, which has been duly processed and now the approval has been received from the Competent Authority from MHA on 13.08.2024. Accordingly, the correspondence has been initiated through Ministry and the letter has been written to Ministry of External Affairs for facilitating the transfer of the petitioner to Australia, in accordance with his request.

Since the needful has already been done, no further directions are required except that the steps may be taken to expedite the transfer and in case there may be a need, he may be produced in Australian High Commission by the State Government/respondent No.1 for renewal of his Passport, in accordance with law. 4.
Petition accordingly stands disposed of.
