This petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator by a period of 12 months.

Disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to a Letter of Intent dated 19.01.2022, on a petition filed by the Petitioner under Section 11(6) of 1996 Act being ARB. P. 987/2022, this Court appointed a Sole Arbitrator. Pleadings were completed on 21.08.2023, whereafter with the mutual consent of the parties, mandate of the learned Arbitrator was extended by a period of six months, which expired on 21.02.2025. It is stated in the petition that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments and therefore, mandate of the learned Arbitrator be extended. 3.

Ms. Gurmeet Bindra, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent and on instructions, submit that the Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the learned Arbitrator. 5.
Accordingly, with the consent of the parties, mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended by a period of nine months from 27.05.2025 and period between 22.02.2025 to 26.05.2025 is regularised. 6.
