The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the BNSS seeks the following prayers: - "a) to the respondent to protect the life of petitioner and his family members from the accused persons in FIR No.226/2022 u/s 302/34 IPC and 27 Arms act, PS Laxmi Nagar Delhi as the petitioner and his family has every danger to his life.
b) To provide the security to the petitioner round the clock as there is danger to the life of the petitioner and his family members at any point of time till the pendency of trial of this case. c) Any other and further orders or directions may be passed which your lordships deem fit and necessary in the interest of justice." 4.

Learned Standing Counsel for the State, who appears on advance notice, draws attention of this Court to minutes of meeting of the Standing Committee of Witness Protection Scheme, 2018, held on 18.01.2025 in which it is recorded as under: - "The Threat Analysis Report sent by DCP, East District has been perused, the witness seeking protection in case FIR No. 226/2022, PS-Laxmi Nagar is also present, who has been heard. Md. Inam stated that he has no fear/threat from the accused persons and want to withdraw his application. It is resolved that the mobile number of the area beat constable, Division Officer and SHO Laxmi Nagar be provided to Md. Inam. In case of any emergency, he can straightway contact them. A copy of present minutes of meeting be sent to the DCP, East District, Member, Witness Protection Committee, East District, Delhi for compliance and a copy of present minutes of meeting be also sent to the witness through DCP, East District, Delhi." (emphasis supplied) 6.
It is submitted that prior thereto the Standing Committee vide its minutes dated 25.04.2023 continued with the arrangement provided for in quarterly meeting its previous minutes dated 28.07.2022 observing as under:- "(1) The victim along with his counsel was called in the Chamber and heard at length. The witness told the Committee that he has lodged an NCR on 10/04/2023 against one Surender Sodhi, who is one of the co-accused in this case. He submits that he has threat to his life and he should be provided security round the clock. The Threat Analysis Report sent by DCP, East District, Delhi perused.
DCP told the Committee that that even earlier this Committee vide its minutes of meeting dated 28/07/2022 has provided one constable to this witness for attending the hearing in the court and said constable was directed to contact this witness at his house at about 9.00 a.m on the date of hearing fixed by the court. There is no need that round the clock security be provided to the witness. DCP submits that she will make sure that one constable is provided to the witness when he has to come to the Court and the Constable will report at the house of this witness as per requirement."

Learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State, on instructions, submits that the aforesaid arrangement as recorded in the minutes dated 25.04.2023, shall continue till his examination is completed. 8.
In view of the aforesaid, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, does not wish to press this petition. 9.
The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 10.
Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of. 11.
