O R D E R

% 12.09.2019 The petitioner has filed the present petition under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Cr.P.C) read with Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for quashing of FIR No. 1000/2015, under Section 135 of Indian Electricity Act (Amend.), 2003, registered at Police Station- Mehrauli, New Delhi and the proceedings emanating therefrom. The petitioner and representative of respondent no.2 as well as their respective counsels submit that the parties have settled their dispute in Lok Adalat held on 09.12.2018. In pursuance to the settlement, the petitioner has deposited a sum of Rs.65,000/-. No due certificate has also been issued by respondent no.2.

Representative of respondent no.2, who is present in Court, has reiterated the aforesaid facts and submitted that he has no objection to the FIR being quashed and the petition being allowed. The Investigating Officer, who is present in Court, has identified the petitioner and has also verified the settlement. In view of the aforesaid settlement arrived at between the parties in Lok Adalat, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the parties entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 1000/2015, under Section 135 of Indian Electricity Act (Amend.), 2003, registered at Police Station- Mehrauli and the proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
