By way of the instant petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 562/2014, registered at Police Station Alipur, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 323/325/341/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC') and Section 25 of Arms Act, 1959.

The petitioners and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Alipur, Delhi.

Briefly stated, the facts of the present case are that on 14.06.2014, an altercation took place between the petitioners and respondent no. 2, upon The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

which, respondent no. 2 had filed a complaint against the petitioners before the concerned Police Station, culminated into the present FIR. After investigation, the chargesheet was filed before the concerned Court. It is stated that a cross-FIR bearing No. 585/2014 was also registered against the respondent no. 2 for commission of offence punishable under Section 323/452/34 of IPC. It is further stated that with the intervention of respectable persons of the society and relatives of the parties, both the parties have settled all their disputes vide Settlement Agreement dated 19.01.2019.

The learned APP for the State submits that the petitioners herein have no previous involvement in any other case.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, have categorically stated that he has entered into compromise out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat and he has no objection, if the present FIR is quashed. 6.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 7.

Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 562/2014, registered at Police Station Alipur, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 323/325/341/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
