1. The short question here is about the height of the Petitioner on account of which he has been found unfit for appointment to the post of Sub-Inspector in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The Petitioner claims that his height is 165.2 cms whereas the measurement taken by the Respondents shows it to be 164.5 cms. The qualifying height is 165 cms.
2. Mr. Jagjit Singh, learned counsel appearing for the Respondents on advance notice states that there is a Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) headed by the DIG, RPF and that the re-examination of the Petitioner with reference to his height can take place in the presence of the DIG,RPF by a separate set of personnel different from the ones who earlier measured the Petitioner's height. He further states that the said measurement will be undertaken within
the next ten days.
3. The above statement of the respondent is taken on record. It is directed that the time and place of the measurement of the Petitioner's height before the GRC, in the presence of the DIG, RPF, should be informed to the Petitioner through counsel by Mr. Jagjit Singh, Advocate at least three days in advance.
