This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.

These are two petitions filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of ld. Sole Arbitrator.

Due to disputes between the parties, a petition was filed in 2021, leading to the appointment of Ms. Justice Gita Mittal (Retd.) as the ld. Sole Arbitrator. 12-month period for making the arbitral award expired on 14th November, 2022. The parties consented to a 6-month extension until 14th May, 2023. As proceedings continued, another extension was sought and granted on 22nd May, 2023, extending the period for making the arbitral award until 21st May, 2024. Hence, the present petitions. 4.

Heard. Considering the fact that serious settlement talks are going on between the parties in ARB. A. (COMM.) 23/2024 and the matter is complex, the mandate of the ld. Sole Arbitrator is extended by one year in both the petitions. Further, both the parties consent to the mandate being extended.

The petitions are disposed of. All pending applications are disposed of.
