The petitioners have filed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution, seeking a direction upon the respondents to decide their applications for mutation in respect of various land parcels purchased by them. There are eighteen different petitioners in a common writ petition, each of whom have made separate applications for mutation relying upon the respective sale deeds in their favour.

As the relief sought, at this stage, is only for consideration of mutation applications, the petition is disposed of, with the direction that the respondent may pass necessary orders on the applications within a period of three months from today.

It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated upon the merits of the petitioners' contentions.

The petition, alongwith the pending application, is disposed of with the aforesaid direction.
