The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the SHO, Lajpat Nagar to provide police protection to the petitioner and her minor child.

The petitioner states that she was in a live-in relationship with respondent no.2 (Ashish Sharma) and she has also an issue from respondent no.2. It is the petitioner's complaint that respondent no.2 used to physically assault the petitioner and his conduct towards petitioner was brutally violent. The petitioner claims that in view of the conduct of respondent no.2, she has left his company and is now residing in Pehchan Shelter Home, which is run by a NGO - Shakti Shalini -having its office at 6/30-B Jangpura, Ground

Floor, Kargil Park Lane, Jangpura B, New Delhi-110014. It is further alleged that even in this shelter home respondent no.2 and his friends are harassing and threatening the petitioner.

In view of the averments made in the petition, SHO, Lajpat Nagar is directed to ensure that the petitioner is visited periodically to ascertain her safety. The petitioner would also be provided a contact number on which she can contact the concerned SHO in case of any emergency. 5.

Insofar as the petitioner's complaint is concerned, the concerned police authorities shall enquire into the same and take necessary steps in accordance with law.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. 7.
