The instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 ('Cr.P.C.') has been filed on behalf of petitioners seeking issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order, direction for providing police protection to the petitioners.

Issue notice. Mr. Rahul Tyagi, learned ASC accepts notice on behalf of the State.

Brief facts of the case as discernible from the records, are that the marriage of the petitioners had been solemnized on 22.05.2025 as per Muslim rites and customs. had become angry with the petitioners herein and did not accept the petitioners and also tried to coerce the petitioner no.1 to marry another boy of his choice. When the petitioner no. 1 refused to do the same, respondent no. 4 started threatening to harm and kill both the petitioners. On 23.05.2025, petitioner no. 1 had left her parental home and started living in the petitioner no. 2's house as his wife. It is stated that the father of the petitioner no. 1 i.e., respondent no. 4 has developed grudges against the petitioners and he can go to any extent and is a threat to the lives of the petitioners herein. The petitioner no. 1 after being aggrieved by the threats of the respondent no. 4 had also lodged a complaint on 23.05.2025 with SHO, Police Station Kalkaji. As no action had been taken, she then lodged the complaint on 26.05.2025 with SHO, PS Jamia Nagar. 16.

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners states that the petitioners are in constant threat to their life and therefore, prays that protection be granted to the petitioners against the respondent no. 4. 17.

The learned ASC for the State, on the other hand, submits that petitioner can be provided with the numbers of beat constable and SHO concerned, and contact them if they apprehend any threat to their lives from respondent no. 4.

This Court had heard the submissions made on behalf of petitioners as well as the State.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, the DCP concerned will take note of the contents of the petition and consider the present petition as a representation. The DCP concerned will pass an order in accordance with law, regarding any action, required to be taken by the concerned Police Station, against the respondent no. 4, under intimation to the petitioners The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

However, considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, and the fact that the petitioners have prayed for protection of their life as they are apprehending threat from respondent no. 4, the petitioners are directed to provide their mobile numbers to the Beat Constable and SHO concerned. Similarly, the mobile numbers of concerned SHO and beat constable be also shared with the petitioners. 21.

The officials of concerned Police Station, including SHO are directed to provide adequate protection to the petitioners from the above-mentioned persons, in case such circumstances arise, as per law. 22.

The learned counsel for petitioners states that he is satisfied with the aforesaid arrangement.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed of in above terms. Pending application, if any, also stands disposed of. 24.
